Paulino clocked 48.73 seconds at StoneX Stadium to set a new meeting record, edging Norway’s Henriette Jæger, who finished just 0.05 seconds behind in 48.78. Jamaica’s Nickisha Pryce placed third in 49.39 seconds.
The victory also marked Paulino’s 15th career 400m race completed in under 49 seconds, allowing her to equal the all-time record for the most sub-49 performances.
Paulino did not lead the race early on, with Jæger making a strong start and reaching the 200m mark in 23.69 seconds. The Dominican was sixth at that stage but began closing the gap around the final bend.
With 100 metres remaining, Paulino had moved into third before producing a late surge down the home straight. She eventually caught Jæger in the closing metres and crossed the line first in 48.73 seconds.
Jæger’s 48.78 was also a landmark performance as she set a new Norwegian national record and became the fastest European woman over 400m in three decades, according to European Athletics.
Paulino’s latest victory extended her unbeaten run in 2026, with eight of her 15 sub-49 performances coming this season.
The Dominican sprinter also continued her strong record at ATHLOS after winning the inaugural ATHLOS NYC 400m in 2024 in 49.59 seconds.
The ATHLOS London victory earned Paulino $65,000, while second and third place received $35,000 and $20,000 respectively. Winners also received the event’s Tiffany & Co.-designed crown.
ATHLOS London marked the women-only professional track and field event’s first international stop after its launch in New York.
Other winners included Sha’Carri Richardson, who won the 100m in 10.80 seconds, Gabby Thomas, who claimed the 200m in 22.13, and Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson, who won her event in 1:56.40.
